Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

Mines actually shipped with Windows XP installed instead of Windows 7 Starter, which is what I preferred anyways. Did not need to upgrade the RAM to 2GB because I use XP and ran mostly firefox, microsoft office, itunes, videos, etc. If you're going to game, use photoshop, install windows 7 ultimate or other heavy apps then upgrade to 2GB RAM.

Battery life on this netbook is ridiculously long. Definitely survives for up to 9 hours. I'm in class/on campus from 11-7 or 8 most days and I don't need to bring the charger ever. But the charger is also very light and small so it's not a burden to carry around.

Featuring a precision unibody enclosure crafted from a single block of aluminum, the MacBook Pro is thinner and lighter than its predecessor as well as stronger and more durable. But Apple didn't stop innovating with the body's design. The MacBook Pro also includes a new 15-inch, LED-backlit glass display (instead of an LCD panel) as well as a glass trackpad that doesn't include a button (for larger tracking area) that features Apple's Multi-Touch technology.

Real improvement
Coming from a troubled Nvidia 8600M GT MacBook Pro - let me say that I was very skeptical buying another Apple Laptop with nVidia chip in it.

However, one weekend I decided to visit the nearest Apple Retail Store and check out the newly released models. My decision was mostly influenced by the reduced prices and increased battery life.

Great unit as a high end PDA- not a laptop replacement
I purchased this unit instead of getting a new PDA about 3 weeks ago. I wanted something I could use with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access that would be smaller (lighter) than a full blown notebook, but would be usable between meetings at client sites where I had time but no access to a computer.

great streamline pc, October 30, 2009

Great umpc(ultra mobile pc), very small. Only con is the vista installed slows this otherwise speedy umpc down. Buy the u810 with vista business and downgrade to windows xp, included with the business vista not home premium version. Keyboard is small but can be gotten used to. I was really impressed with this product would highly recommend to anyone looking for a small portable computer.
